On Sunday, March 24, from 11am to 6pm the Belvedere 21 once again invites one and all to an Open House! Explore, free of charge, the current ongoing exhibitions by Christian Ludwig Attersee and Nicolas Jasmin and continue into the show On the New. Young Scenes in Vienna, taking a stroll through the local art scene. Our program promises special tours, screenings, a book presentation, and lectures on the museum’s history and surrounding neighborhood. Young art enthusiasts can expect a kid parkour with creative games and an open workshop!

In his work, Nicolas Jasmin heightens individual feature film segments by means of sampling, playback, looping, and rhythmizing to such an extent that the original narrative structure collapses. In so doing, he exposes the subliminal cinematic structures while revealing the production process of the videos through reconstructed audio.

The Austrian documentary film Global Shopping Village by Ulli Gladik investigates dramatic changes in our cities and living environment. The director shows the impact of real estate speculation and the associated global financial system on urban life, urban development, and local retail.

What follows next is a presentation on vacant properties in Favoriten and a discussion addressing the intricate networks of international capital by and with Kulturraum 10 – Verein für Alltags- und Bezirkskultur. Ulli Gladik (film director), Pia Hlava (Referentin für Stadtplanung und –entwicklung), Iris Einwaller (Wirtschaftskammer Wien-Bezirksobfrau), Marcus Franz (Bezirksvorsteher Favoriten, to be confirmed) as well as cultural producers from Favoriten will deliberate with the audience on local and global perspectives of critical change in the economy.
