Location: 21er Haus

Since the reopening of the 21er Haus, the Belvedere has had the necessary spatial facilities at its disposal to also present the museum’s holdings of contemporary art in a permanent fashion. The display of the collection, which is going to change its thematic focuses at larger intervals, is meant to offer new perspectives of art production in Austria and highlight both sidelines and the diversified spectrum of artistic movements.

This will provide insights into the peculiarities and characteristics of local art production and illustrate how the latter is connected to the mechanisms of international contemporary art in various ways. The goal is to view contemporary art in Austria under differentiated thematic aspects and with a broad eye.
